Dans le Noir ? at The Como Melbourne
In January 2018, Dans le Noir ? (French translation for “In the Dark?”) opened its first official ‘Dining in the Dark’ restaurant concept in Australia at The Como Melbourne MGallery by Sofitel. This one-of-a-kind experience invited guests to embark on a unique sensory, social and human experience.

Each diner was guided through their mystery three course menu, designed by The Como Melbourne's Executive Chef, Dinesh Munirathinam, in pitch darkness. Through limiting the sense of sight there were no preconceptions brought about by vision; instead other senses are intensified allowing guests to completely re-evaluate their perception of taste and smell.

Blind waiters became the diners’ personal guides during the experience. In this role reversal, the unsighted host becomes the guests’ eyes. Read more about Venuemob's experience at Dans le Noir ?, or check out Urban List's review here.

After a year of the Dans le Noir ? team serving unique experiences at The Como Melbourne, we said goodbye to the Dans le Noir ? team in January 2019. To find out where you can experience Dans le Noir ? now, visit their website.
